'The River Of Dreams' as written by and Billy Joel..
In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep From the mountains of faith To a river so deep I must be looking for something Something sacred I lost But the river is wide And it's too hard to cross And even though I know the river is wide I walk down every evening and I stand on the shore And try to cross to the opposite side So I can finally find out what I've been looking for In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Through the valley of fear To a river so deep And I've been searching for something Taken out of my soul Something I would never lose Something somebody stole I don't know why I go walking at night But now I'm tired and I don't want to walk anymore I hope it doesn't take the rest of my life Until I find what it is that I've been looking for In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Through the jungle of doubt To a river so deep I know I'm searching for something Something so undefined That it can only be seen By the eyes of the blind In the middle of the night I'm not sure about a life after this God knows I've never been a spiritual man Baptized by the fire, I wade into the river That runs to the promised land In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Through the desert of truth To the river so deep We all end in the ocean We all start in the streams We're all carried along By the river of dreams In the middle of the night

'The River of Dreams' is a song by American musician Billy Joel. It is the title track and first single from his 1993 album River of Dreams. The song was a hit, peaking at number 3 on the United States and UK charts, making it Joel's highest charting of the 1990s (River of Dreams was the only album he released during the 1990s). It also hit the top spot in Australia, New Zealand, and on the Canadian and US Adult Contemporary charts. The song was produced by Joe Nicolo and Danny Kortchmar.
At least four versions of the song have been recorded and released. Two versions (released years later) include a bridge section containing a piano interlude paralleling Joel's melody from his song 'Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel),' which is from the same album. Game of thrones war of the five kings. These versions can be found on the boxed sets My Lives and Complete Hits Collection: 1973–1999 – but even these versions differ from each other, both in length and in arrangement: one, for instance, has more percussion. A fourth mix appears as a bonus cut on the UK CD single of 'River of Dreams' — the 'percapella mix' done by Nicolo.
'The River of Dreams' was nominated for the Grammy Award for Record of the Yearin 1994, but lost out to 'I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston. Joel performed the song at the ceremony, and abruptly stopped in the middle of his performance in order to verbally protest Frank Sinatra's lifetime achievement speech being cut off earlier in the night.[1]
In 1993, Gary Zimmerman, a songwriter from Long Island, New York, attempted to sue Joel for ten million dollars, claiming more than half of 'The River of Dreams' was based on his 1986 song 'Nowhere Land.'[2] Joel claimed he had no knowledge of Zimmerman or his music, and Zimmerman dropped the lawsuit in 1994.[3]
Production[edit]
Joel borrows liberally from the tradition of black gospel music and spirituals. The production includes a gospel choir and the lyrics deal with questions of life, inner peace and the hereafter. Joel sings 'Not sure about a life after this. God knows I've never been a spiritual man.' But Joel confesses that at night he walks along 'The River of Dreams' so he can 'find what he's been looking for.' As the song is about to end, the song turns from gospel to doo-wop. At 3 minutes 45 seconds, Joel can be heard singing The Cadillacs' version of 'Gloria' as the music fades out.
Music video[edit]
The official music video for the song was directed by Andy Morahan.[4] The ferry featured is the Rocky Hill – Glastonbury Ferry in Connecticut.
In the video, the filming was shot on the Providence & Worcester railroad bridge spanning the Connecticut River in the city of Middletown, Connecticut. Other locations that were filmed in the music video are near Portland, East Haddam, and Old Saybrook, Connecticut. The scenes inside the tobacco barn with Joel on the piano were filmed inside a still-used tobacco barn in South Glastonbury, Connecticut. Joel and three backup singers appear throughout the video standing on the western span of the bridge, with the open center section of the bridge behind them. While the video was shot in Connecticut, the hazy photography of the languid river and gospel overtones may represent the Mississippi River.
Joel's then-wife Christie Brinkley can be seen painting the artwork that features on the front cover of the album River of Dreams. She is the illustrator who painted the actual album artwork, and each single released from the album featured one part of the large painting as cover art. Their 7-year-old daughter Alexa Ray Joel appears to be the young girl who is briefly shown before the scene with her mother.
Elton John's video for his 1990 song 'You Gotta Love Someone', also directed by Morahan, is similar to this video and features much of the same lighting, locations and camera angles.

Windows 10 change font color. May 30, 2017 How do I change the Desktop Font color in Windows 10. I would like to change the font to a color other than White or Black. Change Desktop icon font color in Customization I've tried the changing background to Orange, etc and it doesn't work for me. Somewhere, it was mentioned about changing to orange then changing back. If you have the background set to picture, set it to Solid color. Chances are it's black by default. This is forcing a white font color regardless what you select for a picture. Change it to say orange, which will make the font color black. Now change the background back to picture, and you should have a black icon font color. How can the answer be improved? Method 4: Change Taskbar Font Color on Windows 10. Most of you are probably using blue or black taskbar with blue taskbar font color on Windows 10, but you may find it difficult to see or you are just bored with the same color on the taskbar for a long time, try to do as the follow. Jul 28, 2016 Just one question. Is there a way to change the color of desktop icon label text. Windows 10 seems to select either white or black only. The photo I use for a background has both black and white areas, making the white, or alternatively black, text invisible.
